Amy is a collaborative theatre artist specializing in directing and developing new/experimental theatre works. MFA, Sarah Lawrence College. She was a scholarship student of both directing and playwriting at La Mama Umbria International in 2011, and was a regular contributor to ongoing monthly experimental theatre events during her time at SLC. These formative experiences led her to begin self-producing and developing work in NYC.
As a director/dramaturg, Amy has worked alongside emerging playwrights to develop several new works which have gone on to further professional development/production stages. She was a featured amongst a collection of emerging artists at Dixon Place’s Catalyst Project, presenting a new-one act by Daniel Kessler, entitled THE NATIVES ARE RESTLESS. Her work in the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival, MY DATE WITH TROY DAVIS, was hailed by Backstage.com as an “entertaining, somewhat surreal fantasia” and “cleverly” directed. She recently developed a devised-theatre piece with TheatreLAB RVA: EXQUISITE CORPSE based on the Surrealist parlor game of the same name. Amy is currently in the pre-production process for a ROSEMARY ROSEMARY, a short-film in conjunction with BSD Media. Amy teaches theatre at Westchester Community College. She enjoys Rock'N'Roll, slowly teaching herself to play guitar, the magic of theatrical collaboration, and sleeping late on Sundays. Proud to continue my work with the passionate Truants. Some of her favorite performances (Truant and otherwise) include: 7 stories, The Vagina Monologues, Life Ellipses, and of course, Four Square. Many thanks to her family and friends for their constant support, and Jamie and Bob for continuing to ask her to hang out with the cool kids.
